Agia Dynami is the beach that Chios keeps as its secret. Located in the south of the island near the mastic village of Olympi, this small cove is sheltered on three sides by low hills covered in wild herbs and tamarisk trees. The water is an extraordinary shade of aquamarine — the kind of color you think only exists in digital enhancement — and perfectly transparent.
The beach itself is a mix of fine white and pale grey pebbles, kept naturally clean by the clear water that washes over them. There are no sunbed operators, no beach bars, no infrastructure of any kind — just the water, the stones, the tamarisk shade, and the sound of the Aegean. A handful of tamarisk trees at the back of the beach provide the only natural shade.
Getting here requires a short dirt-road drive followed by a 10-minute walk, which keeps the crowds away even in peak season. Bring everything you need — water, food, snorkeling equipment — and plan to spend a full day. You will not want to leave.
